Finca Triunfo Verde

“When you drink Triunfo Verde coffee, you are making a contribution to the quality of life of the families of small coffee producers and to the conservation of the Triunfo Biosphere Reserve.”
- Hugo Lares, Technical Coordinator
Triunfo Verde is an organization made up of 448 small coffee producers located in the Triunfo Biosphere Reserve in the south of the Mexican state of Chiapas.
Fifteen percent of the Triunfo Verde group of coffee producers are indigenous people who speak the indigenous languages Tzotzil and Tzeltales. They are largely dedicated to the production of organic coffee. Since the coffee is cultivated in a biosphere reserve, they have an ideal microclimate for the cultivation of unique coffees, produced in harmony with nature.
A large part of the organization’s revenues are invested in the specialized training of the coffee producers, who can then further refine their coffee production.
As an organized group, they have invested into various social and environmental projects. For example:
- Access to resources to improve local housing
- Medical assistance for the community, e.g. with cases of women who have overcome cancer thanks to the treatments they have received
- Preservation of biodiversity through the planting of fruit trees that provide shade for the coffee plants
- Greenhouses for the cultivation of new coffee plants.

“What I like most about this organization is that, in addition to the group as a whole having made a name for itself as producers of high-quality, organic, specialty coffee, individual producers within the group, such as Don Alonso Martinez Luna, are also benefit from additional income if they have worked particularly hard to cultivate an even more refined variety of coffee. .”
